UNIV® QUICKFIX REPAIR SOLUTION – SY is a high-strength repair solution specially designed for the immediate repair of large-size potholes and damaged areas in asphalt and concrete roads.
The product is designed to be mixed with coarse aggregate of 10 mm size and placed into prepared potholes or patch-repair locations. It provides strong bonding with the surrounding road material and develops high compressive and flexural strength for durable road repairs.
QUICKFIX REPAIR SOLUTION – SY provides rapid hardening, excellent bonding, reduced permeability and a durable repair solution suitable for road maintenance and patching applications.
Reference Standard
- IS 516 (Part 2 / Sec 1)
Area of Application
UNIV® QUICKFIX REPAIR SOLUTION – SY can be used for:
- Large-size pothole repairs
- Asphalt road repairs
- Concrete road repairs
- Road patching and damaged surface restoration
- Localized road surface repairs
- Repair of potholes requiring rapid opening to traffic
Application
- Pour the pothole or patch-repair location with UNIV® QUICKFIX REPAIR SOLUTION – SY mixed with 10 mm coarse aggregate down to the prepared area.
- Apply the mixed material in layers of approximately 100 mm thickness using suitable trowels or shovels.
- Each 100 mm layer should be properly compacted using a hand rammer or vibratory mechanical rammer.
- Continue filling the pothole in approximately 100 mm layers until the required road level is achieved.
- It is recommended to fill the pothole in 100 mm layers up to the road level within 25 minutes of pouring.
- Finally, level and finish the repaired surface using a suitable trowel.
How It Works
- Binding of individual particles
- Microfine particles help reduce permeability
- Rapid hardening to withstand traffic movement
- Strong bonding with surrounding material
- Non-shrink characteristics help reduce cracking
- Self-compacting properties for easy densification
- Self-curing characteristics help control heat of hydration
- Flexural resistance to withstand vehicular loading
- Pure silica of various grades for improved durability
- Rounded coarse aggregates provide strength and stability
Advantages
- High Strength: Develops characteristic compressive strength of up to 40 N/mm² at 28 days.
- Rapid Setting: Initial setting time is approximately 30 minutes, allowing quick repair operations.
- Fast Final Setting: Final setting time is approximately 4 hours.
- Excellent Bonding: Bonds effectively with existing road surfaces and surrounding material.
- Suitable for Moist Surfaces: Can adhere effectively even on moist surfaces.
- Monolithic Bond: Forms a strong bond with the existing particles within the pothole.
- Durable: Gains strength over time and becomes increasingly durable.
- Hard & Impermeable: Provides a hard, consistent and impermeable repair solution.
- Easy Application: Can be applied directly without the need for additional tack or primer coating, as stated in the product TDS.
- Traffic Resistance: Rapid hardening and flexural resistance help the repaired area withstand vehicular loads.
- Economical & Environmentally Friendly: Provides an economical and environmentally friendly repair solution.
